Gun Accident at Flea Market Injures One Person
A man is expected to recover after sustaining injuries from the accidental discharge of a firearm at a flea market in Sophia, North Carolina. “It was somebody that brought a rifle up to show somebody that had a spot here, to see if they wanted to buy it and they didn’t check the weapon and it went off…,” said one witness. And a hot dog vendor said, “[h]e was looking at the gun maybe to purchase and wasn’t thinking it might be loaded and it went off. Went through the car front window, into the man’s shoulder and out the back.”
The sheriff’s office has not said if any charges will be filed, and is continuing to investigate the incident.
