Teen Girl In Critical Condition After Being Shot in the Head

Investigators believe the shooting in a Jacksonville, Florida home that sent a teenaged girl to the hospital was an accident. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head. The suspect is cooperating with authorities. The victim and the suspect knew each other, but their names, ages, and the nature of their relationship was not reported. The circumstances of the shooting were also not reported, and police are encouraging anyone with information to contact them.

Neighbors were stunned that the incident happened in their neighborhood, where children play outside and many families have lived for years. One voiced their concerns about young people getting a hold of guns. “With teenagers, you never know what was gonna happen, and so to have something like that in the house, it’s very dangerous because you know people tend to lead with their emotions, so you never know what’s gonna happen.”
