Child Death (18 and Under) Child Under 18 (as Shooter) Mississippi Ongoing Investigation Pennsylvania

14-year old Alexis Pierson, a Port St. Louis, Mississippi middle-schooler was shot and killed in her home by a child who found a loaded gun.  One of Alexis’s friends had brought the gun over and did not secure it.  When Pierson told the child who found the gun to put it down, the child accidentally fired.

Alexis wanted to be a police officer.  “This neighborhood will not be the same for a long time,” her stepfather said. “She will be well missed around here.”

A two-year old found an unsecured gun in his father’s car at a Chester, Pennsylvania gas station and accidentally shot and killed a four-year old girl.  According to the report, it is unclear that the girl was in the same car.  The boy’s father was outside the car when the accident occurred. According to the report, police are investigating.
