WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2021

When shooting broke out at a mall in Danbury, Connecticut, the injured girl, age 15, was an innocent bystander.  She was shot in the chest and is in stable condition at the hospital.  No other people were injured.

Police report that at least eight people were involved in an altercation at the mall, but that the injured girl wasn’t one of them. “It appears she was innocent. It appears there was another target. We do have some information that a male was running from the scene carrying a hammer. We believe he may have been the target but she got in the way,” the Danbury Police Chief said.

During the incident, the mall was placed on lockdown.
