Three People Injured in Gun Accidents, Including a Five-year-old
A five-year-old was injured in an accidental shooting at a residence in Beaumont, Texas. The child was taken to the local hospital in stable condition, and may be transferred to another hospital to receive additional treatment. The circumstances of the shooting were not reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
In Gwynn Oak, Maryland, two boys related to each other were handling a gun when it discharged, injuring one of them in the lower extremities. The boy holding the gun told police he had found it several days earlier. The injured boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Adults in the home found out about the shooting the next day. Detectives continue to investigate.
And in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, a 21-year-old man, accidentally shot himself in the hand while cleaning his gun. He was not seriously injured.
