Two Children Shoot Themselves After Finding Loaded Guns, Four-year-old Girl is Killed

A four-year-old girl was killed after she found a loaded gun in a parked car in Opelousas, Louisiana, and shot herself in the head. Her father, Lydell Rubin Jr., age 30, had driven the car to a home and left the gun inside unattended. He was charged with negligent homicide and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Officials continue to investigate the shooting.

And a boy shot himself with a gun he accessed in a home in Huntsville, Alabama. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No other details were reported.
