Six-year-old Boy Dies After Shooting Himself in the Face

In a St. Louis, Missouri home, Antone Little, age 6, died at the hospital several days after shooting himself in the face. Antone apparently found the loaded gun that 19-year-old Arquez Phipps told police he had placed between his mattress and box spring. Phipps was arrested on the day of the shooting, and charged with endangering the welfare of a child with serious physical injury.

Three-Year Old Shoots Himself with Found Gun

Jared Green, Jr., of Hamilton, Ohio, age 3, found a gun in his home and accidentally shot himself to death today. He picked up a firearm,” a caller told the 911 operator. “So, he did shoot himself, is that right?” the operator asked. “Yes, we believe so, yes,” the caller responded. The caller told the operator that the boy, who had shot himself in the head, was awake and breathing but was having seizures.

The shooting is still under investigation. “It just broke my heart,” a neighbor said. “I really hope that god gives them some type of comfort, but it’s really sad, and it’s really concerning.”

This is at least the fourth accident in four days in which a child, age 3 or under, was killed or injured in an unintentional shooting.
