Toddler Dies After Shooting Himself

A two-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital after shooting himself inside a home in Jacksonville, Florida. Investigators are looking at surveillance video and interviewing witnesses to determine how the toddler was able to access the gun. So far, no one has been charged.

Following the tragic shooting, the sheriff’s office reminded gun owners to secure their firearms in accordance with Florida’s safe storage laws, and that free gun locks are available to the public. “This was a 100% preventable tragedy,” they said.
