Teen Killed, Father Injured, in Accidental Shooting at Home

At a home in Morganton, North Carolina, 18-year-old Dawson Timothy Whisenant was killed, and his father, 47-year-old Timothy Floyd Whisenant, was injured, in an accidental shooting. Witnesses said the gun fired when Dawson’s brother placed it in a box, striking the father in the leg before hitting Dawson. So far, no charges have been filed, but the sheriff’s office continues to investigate the shooting.
