Two Accidental Shootings By Family Members, and Two Self-inflicted

A 13-year-old was unintentionally shot with a shotgun by their 11-year-old sibling in Ashford, Alabama. The 13-year-old’s injuries don’t appear to be life threatening and they were taken to the hospital for treatment. No other information was reported.

Two family member were hunting on private property, when one was accidentally shot multiple times by the other in Horry, South Carolina. The victim is in stable condition. The investigation into the incident will include an accident reconstruction.

In Memphis, Tennessee, a man is in critical condition after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. There is an ongoing investigation.

And another man shot himself in the leg, this time in Charlottesville, Virginia. Police first responded to an area after receiving reports of audible gunfire. They returned a second time after a man with a gunshot wound appeared at the hospital. The man eventually told the truth; he was manipulating a weapon in his vehicle and unintentionally shot himself. A police spokesman said the man’s injuries were minor and he was not aware that the man would face consequences for his initial claim. “The guy just had an accident.”
