SUNDAY, JANUARY 8, 2023

A two-year-old and a 15-year-old were innocent bystanders to other people’s gun violence in Jackson, Mississippi today.  The two children were in a car and were shot by bullets that passed through the trunk.

The 15-year-old is expected to survive, but 2-year-old Kingston McClain will be paralyzed for the rest of his life after being shot in the side.  “He didn’t even begin to live his life. He’s two. He just started walking a year ago, and to know he’s never going to walk again,” McClain’s great-aunt explained.

Also today, 25-year-old Nicolshia Washington, a mother of three children, was shot and killed in the crossfire of an argument involving guns outside of her apartment in Clearwater, Florida. Her 7-year-old daughter, Lasandra Delapierre, was also shot twice, but is expected to survive.
