In Clearwater County, Idaho, a man shot and killed a woman with his AR-15 rifle.  Raoel Brown, 36, claimed he was attempting to shoot an elk on his property when his girlfriend, Lanae Tackely, 38, stepped in front of the gun while he was firing. 

According to court records, Brown was distraught about the incident.  However, he was arrested and charged with felony involuntary manslaughter, felony possession of methamphetamine and injuring another by careless handling and discharging of a firearm.
