Adult Injury No Charges Filed Utah

THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2021

At a Richmond, Utah manufacturing facility, a 23-year old employee accidentally shot himself in the leg while cleaning his Glock during a break.  He did not realize that the gun was loaded when he attempted to break it down.

Police and paramedics responded at the scene.  “This individual had fired his firearm about two weeks ago,” according to police. “He usually carries it unloaded and decided to try and clean the firearm and wipe it down during his break time.”

“As some people who have Glocks are aware, when you disassemble them, you are required to pull the trigger. This individual had removed the magazine and followed his normal process. Unfortunately on this occasion, he did have a round in the chamber. He discharged the firearm into his leg,” police said.
