In Detroit, Michigan, a 13-year old and a three-year old were hurt in separate gun accidents.

The three year old was shot by a four-year old sibling while they were playing with a gun. They were being supervised by another sibling, age 13, while their parents were at work.  The injured child was in stable condition at the hospital.

The 13-year old was shot less than a mile away in a separate accident when a 10-year old cousin found a gun.  The younger boy was playing with the gun when it went off. No adults were home at the time.  The 13-year old was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No prosecutions have been announced. “What we need to do is put those weapons up, we need to make them safe,” a police captain said. “Take them with you. Lock them. Do whatever you have to do to protect our kids.
