Child Injury (18 and Under) Child Under 18 (as Shooter) Maryland No Charges Filed

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2020

For the third day in a row, a child injured himself with a gun found in his home.  In this instance, it is a three-year old in Baltimore, Maryland.  He was treated at the hospital for a wound to the hand.

We continue to need clearer legal requirements for safe storage, better child access prevention laws, and laws or regulations requiring that all guns marketed in the United States have design features that make it impossible for toddlers to pull the trigger.  The latter should include heavier trigger pulls, external manual safeties and integrated locking technology.
