MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2020

Another two-year old Jacksonville, Florida toddler died after an apparent gun accident today.  Although some of the circumstances of the accident are unclear, the child and/or a young sibling apparently found a loaded gun in their home.  One of them fired it and the toddler is dead. Police confirmed that there were also adults present in the home at the time of the shooting.  No one has yet been arrested.

A safety expert offered the following comment:  “You have to always keep your weapon separate from ammunition. Lock it up.  They are curious. They are going to try to find it and play with it, and, unfortunately, this happens all too often when we talk about children and guns.”
