Adult Injury Child Injury (18 and Under) Ongoing Investigation West Virginia

TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2020

For the second time in less than a week, a child was injured in a hunting accident.  A child and an adult were turkey hunting in Camp Creek State Park in West Virginia when they were injured by a shot fired by another hunter. He had “mistaken them for a turkey.”  The boy suffered more serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to a local hospital.  Police are investigating.

The two hunters were wearing camouflage clothing rather than blaze orange.  Orange is not required during turkey hunting season.

  1. It’s not what you are hunting but that there are people shooting guns should require wearing orange. And even if not required by law, doesn’t it make sense to just wear it?
