17-year-old Girl Accidentally Shot

A 17-year-old girl sustained injuries to her arm and chest after she was accidentally shot by 21-year-old Rafael Juventino Nunez in an apartment in Eugene, Oregon. 

Nunez told police he had invited a group of friends over, and was talking to a friend about the difficulties he had disassembling his gun. Nunez also admitted to police that he was drinking and consuming marijuana. He retrieved the gun and started to disassemble it. He thought the gun was unloaded, but there was a bullet in the chamber that fired when he pulled the trigger, striking the girl. 

Nunez was charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
