Two People Shot as Innocent Bystanders, 25-year-old Woman Dies

In a parking lot in Beaumont, Texas, 25-year-old Nastazia Corbin and a friend got caught in the crossfire of a gunfight, and were shot sitting inside a vehicle. Both were critically injured and airlifted for treatment. Nastazia suffered a severe brain injury and died the next day; the friend survived.
The gunfight started as an argument between Drevion Anthony Wilson, age 18, and an unnamed 15-year-old, that escalated as they exchanged gunfire across the parking lot. Wilson was arrested and originally charged with aggravated assault with a weapon causing brain injury or paralysis, and the 15-year-old was arrested for aggravated assault. Now that someone has died, the police expect to upgrade the charges. They also believe there are additional juvenile witnesses to the shooting, and encourage anyone with information to contact them.
