Four-year-old Killed in Accidental Shooting

Following a birthday party in an Alexandria, Louisiana home, four-year-old Londen Austin, was shot and killed in a shooting that involved another four-year-old child. Londen and the other child were unsupervised as they played with a stolen gun that discharged. 

The police chief called the Pre-K student’s death preventable. “This heartbreaking incident serves as a devastating reminder of the importance of properly securing firearms.” Londen’s father, 25-year-old Cartavis Austin, was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of a stolen firearm. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
