Teenager Fatally Shot by Best Friend

Jameson Crawford

In a Salem, Indiana home, 14-year-old Jameson Crawford, was pronounced dead after being accidentally shot in the head by a 14-year-old friend. The details of the shooting were not reported, but the 14-year-old was arrested and charged with reckless homicide. Jameson’s aunt described the two boys as “best friends,” and said the shooting was unintentional. “I feel sorry for the other boy too, because I know that family, as well. But, we don’t get ours back. He’s gone.”

Known as a “spitfire little redhead,” Jameson loved to be outside hunting and fishing. Family and friends shared their grief. “He’s been there when no one else was. He’s been like a light in the dark,” said a friend.

There is an ongoing investigation into the shooting by state police.
