One Man Killed When Two Men Play with Guns

In Kearns, Utah, two men playing around with guns ended when 23 year-old Dylan Treichel sustained a gunshot wound to his chest, and later died at the hospital. Ashton Johnathon Mann, age 23, told police he and Treichel had smoked marijuana and were handling two different guns. He said that Treichel “said he could dodge a bullet,” leading them to unload their guns so Treichel could demonstrate. Mann said he pointed the gun and pulled the trigger at Treichel about six times, as he “…would try to jump out of the way to prove he could move before the trigger was pulled.” The last time, the gun fired striking Treichel. Mann has been charged with manslaughter and use of a firearm by a restricted person.
