Guide Killed in One of Two Hunting Accidents
On private property in Halfway, Oregon, 73-year-old Leroy George Trautman’s rifle unintentionally discharged, killing his hunting guide, 62-year-old Jon Marshall Nichols. Trautman and another man were riding in a side-by-side with Nicholas, when they spotted a herd of elk and got out of the vehicle. Trautman’s rifle fired as he chambered a round, fatally striking Nicholas in the back. The incident is under investigation.
While hunting in Lewistown, Montana, a man was accidentally shot in the leg. His injuries were not life-threatening and he is expected to recover.

What they don’t say in here is that both of those clients should have known better for gun safety. Were retired police officers And one was a gun collector on top of that. There’s a discrepancy of 20 minutes in between reaching out for help. They should have never happened especially by a couple of police officers with an entire career behind them and one of them being a gun collector. Chambering a rifle with your finger on the trigger with the gun pointed at another person 5 ft away. There should have been civil charges and sued to death and held at the very highest rate due to their experience. They killed a great man. I hope they both can’t sleep for the rest of their life.
