Six People Injured in Accidental Shootings, including an Infant

In an extended stay hotel in Whitestown, Indiana, a 1-year-old boy was unintentionally shot in the stomach by his 22-year-old father. The father was handling the gun when it fired, sending the child to the hospital in critical, but stable condition. All people involved are cooperating with police in the ongoing investigation.

In Savannah, Georgia, a child sustained non-life threatening injuries after being accidentally shot. There is an ongoing investigation, and no one has been charged at this time.

A man accidentally shot two people in a liquor store in Miami Beach, Florida. Antonio Alexander Foreman, 24, was identified from surveillance footage and charged with culpable negligence resulting in personal injury and tampering with evidence while armed. He was seen putting his hand in a black satchel resulting in a “sudden movement” in the bag, and patrons in the store reacting to gunfire. Both people shot were hospitalized; a woman was injured in both legs and a man was injured in his left foot.

A woman in her late 60s was struck in the hand by “random, untargeted gunfire” in a housing complex in Louisville, Kentucky. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition. There are currently no suspects in this ongoing investigation.

And, while alone on a shooting range in Rozet, Wyoming, a 73-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the hand with .22 caliber pistol. Apparently the gun jammed before the accident. He was taken to the county health emergency department and released.
