Middle School Placed on Lockdown, and Two Other Gun Accidents

A middle school in Berea, Kentucky, went into brief lock down when a man nearby accidentally shot himself in the leg. The man said he was in his vehicle checking his firearm when it discharged unintentionally. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK. Officers don’t expect to file any charges.

A juvenile was playing with a gun in New Liberia, Louisiana, and accidentally shot himself. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed yet, but this is an ongoing investigation.

And in a Rocklin, California home, a woman accidentally fired a gun that sent one round through her hand and into the abdomen of a man. Their injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. No other information was reported.
