Three-year-old Killed by Five-year-old Brother, and Two-year-old Injured by Stray Bullet

A 3-year-old toddler died after being unintentionally shot in the face by his 5-year-old brother in Statesville, North Carolina. The two children were playing outside when they got in a car and found a loaded handgun near the front seat. The 3-year-old was airlifted to the hospital, where he died. “It really shook me in a place to where I’ll never be the same after this,” said one neighbor. The sheriff said that there will counseling available for any first responders that need it.

And a 2-year-old was injured after being struck by a stray bullet outside of a home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. No arrests have been made and the police chief asked the community for help in the investigation. The toddler became the 100th child in Milwaukee to be injured by gunfire so far this year.
