Stray Bullets Claim the Life of a Woman and Injure Two Others; and a Man Unintentionally Shoots His Friend in the Face

Christian Galindo, 31, was struck and killed by a stray bullet inside her home in Yuma, Arizona. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Jose Flores and Mia Dominguez, both 18, were charged in the shooting with second-degree murder. Dominguez was also charged with false reporting to law enforcement, hindering prosecution and evidence tampering.

A stray bullet that went through a window frame injured a 14-year-old boy in his Long Beach, California home. The boy was struck in the lower body and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

And a stray bullet from target shooting injured a 51-year-old man in Wilton, Wisconsin. Four people were target shooting on a neighboring property without a proper backstop, allowing the bullets to travel 1000 yards away. All four have been arrested and face seven felony counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety.

In Memphis, Tennessee, Hollmer Zelaya, 24, shot his friend in the face with a gun he allegedly found between cushions of a couch. According to a witness, Zelaya was waving the gun around when it unintentionally fired, striking his friend. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Zelaya tried to hide the gun in a drainage ditch nearby, but later told police where to find it. He has been charged with tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
