Three Unintended Gun Injuries

A Memphis, Tennessee child was struck by a bullet that “fell out of the sky” today.  The child’s father told Memphis Police that his son was picking up trash in the front yard, when a bullet “fell from a tree, causing his head to hurt.” The child was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

A Minnesota hunter was mistaken for a turkey and shot by another member of his hunting party today. The 48-year-old man who shot him is cooperating with authorities. The victim is expected to survive.  There is nothing reported about whether the man was wearing orange when he was shot.

In Atlanta, Georgia, a woman was shot in the buttocks during a dispute with a male acquaintance. According to both parties involved, the gun fired accidentally in the man’s backpack during the altercation.  The woman does not intend to press charges.
