Two Teenagers Killed in Gun Accidents

When a 14-year-old and his 13-year-old cousin visited the home of their assistant basketball coach, they apparently found a loaded and unsecured gun.  Zakius Joshua Davis, the 14-year-old, of Gaffney, South Carolina, accidentally shot and killed himself.  The coach, who is a teacher in the local school district, may face charges.  Zakius’s basketball team released the following statement through the team owner:

He had a loving heart and always had a big, amazing smile on his face and always kept the team laughing. Z will be truly missed. We are praying for the family and we send all our love and if they need anything pops is always here. This season we will be dedicating it In memory of Z. Our motto is one eat we all eat we are family.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, 15-year-old Steven Gomez was playing video games when he was accidentally shot and killed.  The specific circumstances of the accident are unclear.
