Child Death (18 and Under) Child Under 18 (as Shooter) Florida No Charges Filed

She’Marion Burse

Eleven-year-old She’Marion Burse of Miami, Florida was shot and killed today by a 13-year old sibling. The boy was airlifted to the hospital where he died.

Police said there were five siblings home alone in the apartment at the time of the shooting, ranging from 9 to 15 years old. Investigators said that the boy’s 13-year-old sibling got a firearm from inside a firearm case that was in the master bedroom closet. While he was handling the firearm, he accidentally fired it, striking She’Marion in the chest.

The children’s parents, one of whom is a corrections officer, were working at the time. Currently no charges are expected to be filed.
