A two-year old Joliet, Illinois child found a loaded gun in a bedroom at his home and shot himself in the head.  He is in critical condition at the hospital.  The boy’s mother was home at the time of the incident and is cooperating with police.

In Grape Creek, Texas, police arrested Mathew South, 32, after an accidental shotgun blast killed his partner.  South told police he had been using methamphetamines.  While he was attempting to put a shotgun away, it fired.  The round passed through an apartment wall and struck his girlfriend where she was lying on a bed.  When police arrived, they found South walking around the property with blood on his body and hands.  He has been been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
