Kyler Jackson, a South Bend, Indiana 5-year old was accidentally shot and killed by a 9-year old relative today.  “We ask that you please respect the family,” the Police Department wrote, adding that the 9-year-old is “trying to recover from the trauma.”  Additional details are not available.

Colton Jon Shoemaker of Burlington, West Virginia was turkey hunting with his girlfriend when he was shot and killed by David Haggerty, another turkey hunter. Haggerty admitted to accidentally shooting Shoemaker, thinking he was shooting a turkey. Although Haggerty attempted to help get medical assistance for Shoemaker, he was arrested and charged with felony wanton endangerment with a firearm.
