Kaden Vera, a 14-year old high school student at Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana accidentally shot and killed himself today, according to Evansville police.  He was found at home with a gunshot wound to the head. 

The boy’s school released the following statement, “[w]e have sad news to share with the Reitz community. Freshman student, Kaden Vera, passed away yesterday. Please keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time. We had additional counseling staff at school today for any student who needed support. This counseling support for students will remain at school as long as necessary.”  

“According to FJ Reitz Football, a table will be set up for Kaden during the youth spring camp event.”
