Four-year old Miyell Hernandez of Lithonia, Georgia, found a loaded gun in his mother’s car while she was at the grocery store and shot and killed himself.  Miyell was waiting for her with two other children when the accident occurred.

“We talked all the time,” said Miyell’s grandmother, April Griffin. “I never felt that kind of love. I never knew nobody could love me like that.” The report continues, “[n]ow Griffin isn’t sure how she and her family will go on without the sweet little boy, who had been looking forward to a summer trip to Walt Disney World.”

The local police offered thoughts and prayers. The report notes that Miyell is the sixth Atlanta-area child to die in a gun violence incident this year.
