Adult Arrested Child Death (18 and Under) Child Under 18 (as Shooter) Juvenile Arrested Louisiana

SUNDAY, JANUARY 2, 2022

Tony Ebarb, age 16, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was handling a gun with his younger brother in the back seat of their father’s car when the gun discharged. Tony was struck and killed.  The accident occurred while the family was waiting in the drive-through lane at a local fast-food restaurant.

The boys’ father, Jeffery Ebarb, had bought the gun from a friend just before the accident occurred.  Both Jeffrey Ebarb and Tony’s 15-year old brother were arrested and charged with negligent homicide.  News reports were unclear about whether any member of the family had training on how to use the make and model of gun that was involved in the accident.

  1. This is Tony’s mother. My son never touched the gun, this story is incorrect. His brother was holding the gun when he shot and killed my son. The part of the story they’re leaving out is their dad was not only high on meth, but also had 3 grams of meth in a fanny pack inside the truck that he passed off to someone before the police arrived. This was told to me by the 15 year old brother that killed my son. I am the voice for my son in hopes that I can maybe save the life of someone else’s child. Common sense was not used in this situation and it destroyed my son’s life. I’ve got to make the world aware of the ugly truth behind all of this. My son never touched the gun
