Three children were killed in unintended gun violence on Thanksgiving Day.

In Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, a group of kids were making a social media video with a gun on Thanksgiving Day, when one of them accidentally pulled the trigger.  A five-year old was shot and killed and a 13-year old has been taken into custody.  At the time of the accident, two 13-year-olds, an eight-year old and the five-year old who was shot were in the room. There is no word on how the children got the gun, whether they knew it was loaded, or whether any adults will be charged.

In South Fulton, Georgia, five-year old Khalis Eberhart was shot and killed by her three-year old cousin.  The gun apparently belonged to the three-year old’s father, Khalis’s uncle.  Khalis’s mother died earlier this year, leaving Khalis and two siblings, including a twin sister, in her father’s care.  “Her and her twin had a great bond. When you saw one, you saw the other one. They were always holding hands, hugging. They were always together. They talked to one another,” her grandmother said.  Khalis always had a smile on her face, she added.

Also on Thanksgiving, in Hereford, Pennsylvania, a 10-year old was shot and killed while he was with someone who was target shooting.  There is no word on whether the shooter will be charged.
