SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2021

Kayden Jones, age 8, of Atlanta, Georgia was accidentally shot and killed at his home.  Family and friends released red and blue balloons on Sunday at a vigil in his honor. “We’ve been crying all night, all morning,” a neighbor said. “How can you constantly keep trying to explain and get another seven or eight-year-old to understand their friend is gone? How can you say your friend is never coming back or it’ll be ok?”

In another Georgia gun accident, a Nashville 13 year-old was handling a hunting rifle when it discharged, killing his two-year old sibling and wounding his mother.  The boy’s mother is at the hospital in good condition.

Police have not released any details about the circumstances of the shooting, but no charges have been filed.  Family and friends believe the shooting was an accident.

Also today, in Mobile, Alabama, a 2-year-old child sustained a gunshot wound to the head after finding a gun.  The child was transported to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury.  No other details were reported.
