There were at least four different innocent bystander shootings today.  The unintended consequences of intentional shootings continue to grow in proportion to the expansion of gun violence in the United States.

In Cincinnati, Ohio, an 11-year old boy was struck in his bedroom while playing video games.  The rounds that passed into his room were fired in a  violent incident that occurred outside his home. He was struck in the leg, treated at the hospital and released.  “He was minding his business, had nothing to do with the conflict or whatever was going on outside, but he was victimized by it,” a community leader said.

A five-year old Mobile, Alabama boy was struck in the foot by a bullet fired in an argument that included members of his family.  One of the boy’s relatives was accessing the gun when it went off.

A 19-year old student at New York University was struck in an incident that occurred just outside a University building in Brooklyn. Two groups of New York teens were apparently firing at each other.  The student is expected to survive.

Finally, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , a 52-year old woman was shot in the leg in an incident in which another person was killed in a dispute.  She was down the block from the incident when it occurred. She was hospitalized in stable condition.
