Austin Salyer, a Texas State University student, was shot and killed while sleeping when a gun was negligently discharged in a neighboring apartment.  Police in San Marcos, Texas have identified and interviewed the shooter, but have not released the shooter’s name pending further investigation.  They have offered their deepest condolences to Salyer’s family.
