Adult Injury Child Injury (18 and Under) Child Under 18 (as Shooter) Missouri Oklahoma Ongoing Investigation

THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, 2021

Four people were injured by two bullets in accidental shootings today.

In Springer, Oklahoma, the injuries appear to have been caused by a defective firearm.  A woman attempting to shoot a skunk from her front porch was maneuvering the slide on a gun when it fired.  The round passed through her hand and struck her brother as well.  Both wounds required medical treatment.  Neighbors say that this isn’t the first time they’ve heard gunshots fired from the victim’s home. “We’ve had bullets fly over into our yard,” said the neighbor.

In St. Louis, Missouri, an 18-year old asked his four-year old brother to bring him a gun.  The gun fired and both brothers were injured. They are in stable condition at the hospital.
