In Fort Mojave, Arizona, a man was accidentally shot and killed when a firearm discharged as it was being “transferred” to him.  No other details of the incident are available.

Near Fresno, California, ten sheriff’s deputies and a police helicopter participated in the investigation of a report that a 17-year old made after being shot in the leg.  Fresno city police also investigated. The boy claimed that someone in a car pulled up  while he and a friend were riding horses and had shot him in the midst of a dispute.

In the course of the investigation authorities learned that the boy had accidentally shot himself. “It is unfortunate that the dishonesty by this teenager took valuable resources away from members of the public for several hours who may have needed help for valid reasons,” said a spokesperson for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
