Two teenagers and a child were injured and hospitalized in separate gun accidents today.  A 35-year old man and a 32-year old woman were also hospitalized after a fourth accident.

In yet another unintentional shooting in central Ohio, an 18-year old who was playing with a gun was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries after accidentally shooting himself in the head.  The case remains under investigation.

In Jackson, Mississippi, a 14-year old accidentally shot a 15-year old. No further information is available other than that the victim is in critical condition.

A ten-year old Birmingham, Alabama boy was accidentally shot in his home by another child who found a gun “and accidentally discharged it.”  His condition is stable and police are investigating.

Finally, in San Antonio, Texas, another frequent site of gun accidents, two people were hurt in a gun cleaning accident, a 35-year old man and a 32-year old woman.  Police said the single bullet went through the man’s arm and hit his girlfriend in the abdomen.  She was sitting in a chair nearby.  Police said “the woman is in serious condition while the man’s injuries are less severe.”

All four accidents occurred in states with lax gun laws.
