An 88-year old woman was killed and a three-year old child was seriously injured in separate gun accidents today.

In Warren, Ohio,  88-year old Ruth Lewis was planning a funeral with family members when someone shot through a window and killed her.  “This was a senseless death caused by a random bullet. Obviously, she wasn’t the target so it’s so unfortunate, but that just goes to speak to the dangers of just having so many guns in irresponsible hands,” Warren’s Mayor said.

In Lubbock,  Texas, three children were in a parked car together when a three-year old climbed into the front seat and found a loaded gun in the console.  The three-year old shot and seriously injured a five-year old sibling who had remained in the back seat. The third child was not hurt.

Both incidents are being investigated by police.
