In Idaho Falls, Idaho, a police officer mistook a man with a gun at a housing complex for a wanted suspect with a gun.  The officer shot and killed the wrong man.

Although details of the accident are unclear, the officer involved was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.  “The truth that we have to share with you is difficult and quite tragic,” the Police Chief told reporters.
