Child Death (18 and Under) Juvenile Arrested Ohio

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2021

Brooklyn Terrell, a 17-year old Lockland, Ohio teenager, was accidentally shot and killed when she and two other teenagers were handling a stolen gun.  A 16-year-old boy has been charged with reckless homicide, obstructing justice and tampering with evidence. The other suspect, a 14-year-old boy, is charged with obstructing justice, tampering with evidence and theft of a firearm.

Lockland schools were briefly placed on lockdown after the incident.  The school system announced that grief counselors will be available for students and staff.

It is unclear if the person whose gun was stolen, perhaps because it was loaded and unsecured, also bears some responsibility.
