In Houston, Texas, 25-year old  Karina Montelongo was shot in the face when she was attempting to show her roommate how to use a  gun.  The  roommate told officers that Montelongo was showing her a gun she owned.  She had never handled a gun before and did not know it was loaded. 

According to the roommate, she was holding the gun while Montelongo was teaching her about it and it accidentally went off.  While on the way to the hospital, Montelongo also told authorities that the shooting was an accident.
