A three-year old in Jupiter Inlet, Florida gained access to his uncle’s handgun and shot himself in the thigh and hand.  He is in stable condition at the hospital.

In Battle Creek, Michigan, Christopher Vogt shot himself in the upper thigh with a .45 caliber handgun after returning from hunting.  Vogt was in his garage at the time.  Police are investigating the incident as an accident and reported that Vogt usually carried the gun in the waistband of his pants.

In Lincoln City, Oregon, 29-year old Nicholas Ellingford accidentally shot himself in the groin while in the check-out line at a local grocery store. He had pulled a Glock pistol from his waistband to show a friend.  “As he was putting the gun back in the front of his pants near the zipper, he accidentally pulled the trigger,” according to police.  “A bullet went through his groin area and out the lower thigh of his leg, ‘narrowly missing his femoral artery,’” they added.
