California Child Injury (18 and Under) Illinois Ongoing Investigation

A 5-year old and a 4-year old were victims of shootings today as innocent bystanders.

The 5-year old was attending a birthday party in Fresno, California when she was struck by a stray bullet fired by one of several  people arguing in the neighborhood.  According to the report, police do not believe that the 5-year old “was the intended target.”  She is being treated at the hospital.  Police are investigating, but no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The four-year old was an innocent victim of a drive-by shooting in Chicago.  He and his mother were standing outside when he was struck by bullets fired from a passing vehicle.  The boy was hit in the leg and his mother was hit in the backside.  The police do not believe that the boy or his mother “were the intended target.”    Both are hospitalized in good condition.  No arrests have been made.
