Two people were injured today when guns were accidentally discharged.  In each incident the victim was not in the room where the gun was fired.

At John Wayne airport in Orange County, California, a sheriff’s deputy accidentally fired his service weapon at 7 AM this morning.  The round penetrated a wall and hit an airport employee in the arm.  She was transferred to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In Wichita, Kansas, a ten-year old girl was accidentally shot in the upper body, but is expected to survive.  A man who was with the girl’s mother was handling the weapon in a bedroom at the time it unintentionally discharged.  The girl was in an adjoining bathroom.

 Both incidents remain under investigation.
