For the second day in a row, a resident of Ohio was killed by a stray bullet. 64-year old Ellen Lakey of Columbus was inside her apartment when she was struck by a round fired in a gun fight outside. A neighbor said, “It happens over here all the time. No one cares until someone’s already dead.”
The gun battle that killed Mr. Lakey is the latest in a wave of violence across Columbus. Columbus police reported at least 500 shootings since January and 75 homicides so far this year.
